I just finished my big term presentation and paper. And I am starting my 3rd Trueblood Case today.

I didn't do research on ARod, as I had originally planned. It was too difficult for me to find financial data on him and the team online in a short amount of time. Instead I researched the financial impacts of Hurricane Katrina on a company that occupies the New Orleans convention center.

I will listen to a guest speaker on Monday afternoon, who will provide us with our subject matter for my 'final exam' project. I will have a week to research her accounting problem and turn in my proposed solution.

On a lighter note, E & I took the afternoon off together to go to the Byron Nelson. It was a beautiful day. The course has been reconstructed this year and is proving tough for the players. No Tiger again this year. I guess he stopped coming to Texas after Mr Nelson passed away two years ago.

We got a bike ride in today through the park. It's really nice to have everyone on 2 wheels this spring.
We had also planned to go to the Fort Worth Main Street Arts festival today. But we learned late yesterday that 'A' has a project due on Monday. So after our ride, she started researching Komodo Dragons. And after a few sets of tears, the project is now complete.

She had a similar meltdown that last time there was a weekend homework assignment. She's having trouble adjusting to 'homework' when there are so many other fun things going on. 2nd grade it tough.

So we're headed back to the park for a picnic dinner and then home after another great weekend. No time for the Fort Worth festival.

We had a long, warm day today. First it started with my hair appointment. Although this isn't very exciting for most, I look forward to it every six weeks.
Next, we had a Bat game and they did really well. We're still not keeping score this year - we have 5 run innings - but we did complete many outs and even had 3 in one inning. The outs are new this year.
The annual school carnival followed where the kids cleaned up. 'A' even won a 2 liter of root beer. It was like she was Miss America walking around that field.

And we rounded out the day with a shrimp dinner at home. This beautiful 80+ degree weather has done a number on my sinuses today. I'm ready to hit the couch and watch Jurassic Park for the 2nd time in a day. I'll have to pass on the Root Beer float. I can't taste anything.

Itch Itch Scratch Scratch Itch

Our house has grown very familiar with calamine lotion & benadryl this week. Let me back up a bit:

The weekend before last, E & I finally had the opportunity to try out our new tent & sleeping bags in Glen Rose. We had such a great time hanging out by the fire all night.

The next day we spent over 4 hours wrestling with a chipper. It was a beast of a machine & it was finally placed on the ground. And then we found it had lost a part on the trip down. A whole day wasted. But we had fun camping!
On Monday I felt a mosquito bite on my neck. Tuesday it got bigger. Wednesday I found one on my arm. Turns out, it's not a mosquito bite. It's Poison Oak! My sweet husband offered to put benadryl on my mosquito bite (with his hands!). And now, over a week later, we are both covered in it. We've been trying the baking soda paste solution. And it's dried it out some. But we're still battling it.

My 2nd case presentation was tonight. 2 to go. I'll keep my opinions regarding group work to myself. I think we all know how they really work.

Bat Season

P Diddy's back on the same team this year with many of the same players. He's stepped up to the 'shetland' league which is 5-6 year olds or Pre-K through 1st graders. And man do some of those 1st graders look big on that field! But P-Diddy can fly past him with his super speed!

He looked very focused on opening day.
