Eric & I had a great weekend; we rarely have this much time together!
Friday night, we saw the
Charlie Shafter band play in the Stockyards. The singer reminded me of my
brother-in-law.
I got up way too early Saturday & participated in the
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k. Had I worn a chip, I would have come in 12th place in my category. Not too shabby for having not run 3 miles in about 3 months.
We had a team of 10 participating in honor of my co-worker Ann who was diagnosed this year. I was able to take a much needed nap, after falling asleep under the dryer at the hair salon!!
Saturday night, Eric & I went to see The Hangover. In the words of my friend Megan, "it was 'wear a diaper' funny"! It was hilarious. Absolutely a great movie to see. (I was going to include a link to the trailer here, but I highly recommend that you just see it & not let the trailer spoil it.)
Today we got up early, did some things around the house. Went to the Marquez Bakery for some breakfast. Afterward, we stopped at the new Cowboys stadium & walked around the outside of the facility. It was pretty impressive - I am very interested to see the inside. But a little disappointed to hear they are serving $8 beers.
We then spent the afternoon putting in some new color in the flowerbeds & lounging by the pool. It looks beautiful right now thanks to all of Eric's hard work draining/ painting/ fixing.
Note: this is not the new color. These are the roses we planted last year.

And finally Eric cooked me a fabulous shrimp pasta dinner. It was so yummy, that when I returned from doing the dishes, I found these two sacked out with the golf tournament on TV:
