A quick update:

We've had a super busy few weeks after the holidays. Our Plumbing and Electricity has been installed - FINALLY! It took so long to get the electricians coordinated. We then had the foam insulation sprayed in the living areas of the house which has already made a big difference in the warmth & sound. The exterior stone has begun this week as well. These cold, drizzly days are delaying the progress. But we are SO used to that.

This weekend Eric finished framing the house & putting up insulation on the walls. Sheetrock starts on Wednesday! Then floors, cabinets, painting, etc. etc. etc. More pics to come.

We also celebrated P Diddy's 6th birthday last week. We went to Chuck E Cheese & to the Fort Worth Stockshow with Granddad and Sonja. And also got to enjoy 2 lunches with Mimi & Enno!

And finally, Spring semester has begun for me. I had hoped that our house would be complete before it began. I am taking a basic marketing course and Auditing. It will be a challenge for me to keep up with all of the reading - Audit especially. Four different texts. But I am really looking forward to the class because I have a great Professor. The prof makes all the difference!

Oh, and I am participating in the Biggest Loser competition at work. I weighed in today & lost 1 pound in two weeks. I'm right on track to lose 5 in the 10 week period.

Hope everyone had a good New Year!

First Night in the House

It's a little early, but we drug the camper cushions & sleeping bags into the house last weekend for our first night in the house. The view was amazing at night. When we went to sleep there was a full moon outside of our window. And I woke up in the middle of the night to see the whole view packed with stars. Just amazing.

E rigged up the football game.

Read an interesting article by John Mayer. He brings up some good points.

"My generation has come to know itself as the generation that should have seen the good days, my, were they spectacular, now take off your shoes and place them on the belt."

I hope we can put our head's together and get back wearing our shoes through the airport. That's so gross.

I was in 1st !!

I headed out this morning for my 6 mile run through River Legacy Park. I noticed more traffic than usual & began seeing the signs posted: there was a race at the park today. The Jiggle Butt Run. I continued on my way.

I had just finished mile #5 when I finally saw a huge crowd of women approaching me. And they were all cheering me on! You Go Girl! Keep it Up! Good Job! And then I realized - I was running right behind the lead bicycle! They all thought I was in first place! And I guess I was for about 20 seconds when I was passed by the real leader.

But it was a great feeling for about 20 seconds. And I know I had a huge smile on my face because I thought it was so funny and so nice at the same time. I guess that having running partners can be very beneficial.
