Christmas Week

We had a fun few days together in anticipation of Christmas. We went bowling, had a visit with Mimi & Enno, made cookies with Aunt Nell & Ezra James and Mimi, went Ice Skating, looked at Christmas lights, watched Christmas movies & played lots of games. All before Santa arrived.

Christmas Around the World

We made it to Addison's school play last night, Christmas Around the World. She was Cupid, one of Santa's reindeer. She did such a great job! I was really impressed with all of the lines she had to memorize & and the amount of songs they sang.

This is Rudolph below. She really wanted this part, but I think she was placed in the right role.

What a Turkey!

As promised, a few pictures of my favorite Turkey!

(You'll notice that he shed his head back at the golf cart).

A few updates...

I'm a little behind on the house progress. Two weeks ago, E dug out the trenches for the electric, water, and sewer lines down the hill. Roberto also came back to help complete the metal work on the patio.

It was a beautiful weekend which allowed us to get a few things done outside. We put the roof panels on the patio, filled in the gaps with foam insulation in the windows, and put up siding on the exterior in preparation for rock. With the wind chill at 18 degrees today, E worked inside on the sheetrock.

The foam insulation was sprayed which meant E could secure the roof panels (although one section is still missing on the lower, left) and the electricians should be done on Wednesday.

E & I spent the weekend together in Glen Rose. He finished the framing while I continued to work on de-rusting the containers. Mimi & Enno joined us on Saturday for a tour and some yummy lunch. I bet she'll have some pictures to share.

The foam insulation will be sprayed tomorrow so that the roof can be completed & E's welder friend will return so that they can construct the patio.

Framing Walls

E began working on framing the walls today. It looks like he is almost through and ready for the electrician to return.

Windows & Doors Installed

E got up early Wednesday to pick up all of the doors in Dallas, windows in Granbury, and even picked up the rest of our new rocking chairs in time to meet the installation crew in Glen Rose. Unfortunately, it turned out that all of the windows and doors were built with the wrong dimensions. Fortunately the crew were able to fix them on site. And everything was installed by late Thursday night. It's starting to shape up!

Window & Door Frames

One of E's employees who is a skilled welder came out to help wrap up the door & window frames. He got so much done in one day! He's offered to come back next week and finish the patio & roof.

Our first fire in the fireplace.
The frame is installed for the clerestory.

Amy Grant Concert

My sister invited me to join her for the Lead Me On reunion tour. The concert featured songs prior to 1989. These brought back some good memories for me. We had a great time!

Getting Back on Track

Or on the treadmill, I should say. I just realized that I have one Sister who is being featured in workout Webisodes, a Sister who has successfully reached several weight loss goals, and Another who is running half marathons. What the heck am I doing to stay fit and healthy?? Not enough!

No More of this!

So it's back on the treadmill for me. Three times a week minimum. And I have to be ready for the Turkey Trot in 2 weeks.
