He Thinks My Tractor's Sexy

We were able to spend another Sunday together on the 'ponderosa', as my boss calls it. We seem to spend every-other-Sunday there. And then E spends his day off on Monday there. He's supposed to meet the electric man next week to get a meter installed. We bought a tent last week, but the weather keeps getting too cold to spend the night. But I am optimistic that spring is right around the corner!

This Sunday was a momentus day. After all these years, I finally learned how to drive the Tractor. Funny thing is - it wasn't all that hard. I did have a hesitation that I would end up like Kevin Bacon on Footloose, when he was playing chicken and his shoelace got stuck. I was careful to make sure my laces were properly tucked!

By the way, got my first test out of the way in my Accounting Research class. I think it went well. Now I'm working on a case study to present. More exciting accounting details to come...

Out with the Original and in with the Newish

Some of our appliances are original to our house. Others were replaced during the kitchen fire, prior to our arrival. And none of them match.

So we found a steal on Craigslist! Some folks in Frisco were no longer happy with the appliances they installed only a few short years ago. So they replaced and now we are replacing!

All I need now is for E to install them.

Palm Springs

After returning from our 5 day getaway, I realize we didn't take much time to snap many pictures. We did have a great time. Too bad E had meetings part of the time. What the pictures don't show is the beautiful resort, the golf courses all around, and the fabulous spa.

Here's some pics from our trip up the tram. We ascended this mountain to 8500 feet. It was 65 degrees at the bottom and dumping snow at the top.

We also visited the desert's version of a zoo. It was fun to see the different animals that thrive in that area.

We had dinner last night at one of our favorite chain mexican restaurants. Dinner was done, the bill was paid, and we sat at the table talking. Then suddenly our waiter comes to the table, politely picks up the ticket without looking at it and says, 'Thank you for the tip sir."

We were in shock. What a nice thing to hear. I've never heard a waitperson say something like that. We might go back sooner than we were planning...

It's Official (sort of)

We spent the day Sunday squatting on our future land. We drove out to Glen Rose and went for a mountain bike ride, followed by a hammock ride, and we sat a spell on the Rock with a Shiner. Then we drove back on Monday to sign the paperwork.

And finally, the Happy New Owners!

Lace up your hiking boots, folks! We're gonna have some fun!
