All Star!

Preston was offered the chance to try out for All Stars this year & he made the team!

We're so proud of all the hard work he has put into his first year playing Kid-Pitch. He was given the opportunity in several games to be the starting pitcher. He also played Short Stop & First Base this year.

His season is supposed to start the 3rd week in June.  If you're from around here, you know that it is SUPER hot this time of year.  We were told that the Midlothian All-Star team typically only plays well-enough to last 1 week.

So what are the chances that this year they do well & it lasts all summer?  Ahh!

Want to Get Away?

Our friends Chuck & Annette were able to visit us in Glen Rose last weekend. They picked a gorgeous weekend to take in the scenery. We met up at Rough Creek for some swimming and rock climbing then headed to the Rockin' W for some Skeet Shooting and Grub.

Bobby, giving it a try.

Addison, trying to work her magic.

It took a while for Preston to muster up the nerve, but he had to
get a piece of the action once everyone else did.

The next day we visited Fossil Rim. It seems that we may have arrived right around nap time because most of the animals were lounging in the shade.  But we did have a good visit with the giraffes.

You can always count on these guys for feeding!

We're looking forward to the Feddersen's visiting again soon!

Winter Programs

I ran across this blog post that I had started and never posted this winter. Does that indicate how crazy our schedule is for that month?

We had 2 Winter Programs this year.  Addison had a small winter choir concert and Preston played Cupid in his 3rd grade program. We loved every minute of it!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the ladies in my life that influence the lives of young ones. I've learned over the last few years that sometimes it takes a village to raise a child (wink, wink).

My day was fabulous as always. Unlike most Mothers, I get the day off. My hubby took me on a dancing date to the Rio Brazos Music Hall in Granbury, Tx where we enjoyed the Josh Weathers Band. What a fun band! We enjoyed a traditional 'ranch' breakfast on our little hill and then headed to Stephenville to go check out the flea market. We then spent the rest of the day working on some chores, all while soaking up a beautiful Texas spring day.

I guess I'll be getting back to blogging now that my blog-inspiration has gone home to Holland. My lapse has really been due to my technological challenges at home. I no longer have a laptop to work from (which was very convenient for staying on top of my blog) and our home computer is SO overdue for replacing. Super slow and frustrating. So tonight I am writing my first blog post from my iPhone. Not too bad, but fewer bells and whistles will be in this post. I can't figure out how to upload a pic from my phone, but if I could I'd share my sweet dog hanging out at Addi's last soccer game of the season.

Until next time, Happy Mother's Day Mimi!!
