Wanna go for a Walk?

My exercise partner, Lucky. Sporting his fancy new harness.
I've changed my training schedule to 3 walks + 1 run per week. I just couldn't eliminate the running altogether. Much to our surprise at 5:09 AM yesterday, the rain was pouring down outside our window and we couldn't go for our walk. But with the rain came below-100 temperatures which made today's 5 mile walk so pleasant!

Lucky can't quite make it 5 miles - he bows out after mile 2-3. So if you want to join me, I'll be walking for two more months. (And it can get really lonely out there).

Week 3: Blasingame-Jacobus Cookies

Week 3 was another bake-sale success! These yummy Blasingame-Jacobus cookies were a hit at work. I intended to take them to my Club in the AM, and then to our corporate office in the PM, but they were all gone by Noon!

Week 2: Milk Chocolate Cupcakes!

Week 2 was a success: white cupcakes, complimented with a super sweet Milk Chocolate frosting. I'm on track with my $10 per week goal, thanks to my great coworkers and their inevitable mid-afternoon cravings for chocolate. (Really, mid-morning seems to be the best time for sales). I've actually raised $35 through 2 weeks, thanks to some extra contributions in the Cutie Jar.

Kicking off some more Fundraising

The golf tournament is long over & it's time to get back at the Fundraising efforts. Personally, I have about $500 left to raise. While we have some group events in the works, I'm going to try to wittle-away my goal by kicking off my weekly Bake Sale at work.

Tomorrow is my first attempt to raise $10 per week: Original Brownies.

Show me your $1 bills!!

Ahhh.... summertime

We're wrapping up our last two-week rendezvous with the kids for summer. We've done quite a bit in two weeks, got to spend some fun time with friends, and are now getting back into school mode.

Here's some pics from our recent visit to the Dallas Aquarium.

The new Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas. In my opinion, not as cool as the original.

We also visited Summerfest at the Gaylord Texan. The hotel atriums were decorated with Alice in Wonderland themes. We visited the 3D Rabbit Hole maze, completed the Cheshire Cat Challenge (scavenger hunt), saw many characters, and wrapped up the evening with fireworks.
